I bought Dove Exfoliating Foaming Cleanser because I wanted a gentle non drying cleanser that I could use daily ( I use a different cleanser at night)and I like to "buff " off any dead skin that may be hanging around!
There is a kind of long list of ingredients so I am only going to list the first 5
Water, Disodium laurylSulfosuccinate, Petrolatum, Lauric Acid, Sodium Sarcosinate....
Of course this face wash has dove's famous 1/4 moisturizing cream included!
This doesn't really lather...(I guess that's why they call it a foam!)I found that this had a pretty decent light scent, It wasn't to abrasive like other exfoliating washes I've tried. There was not an excess amount of the "beads" in it so, no scratchy feeling while you wash. I have to admit that does make me question how good of an exfoliator this really is!
It rinses off easily. And generally my skin looks good and feels smooth afterwards...sometimes I do have a little bit of that tight dry feeling after washing ... but I guess thats what my moisturizers are for! I've never had any irritation or additional drying caused by this and my skin has always felt clean after using this.
I have combination skin leaning a little more towards the dry side in places with psoriasis occasionally showing up in patches.
This cleanser did not cause any problems when I did have the psoriasis patches, which is surprising to me and very important because irritating them makes the patches causes them to get worse.
It did remove make up really well when I washed..( eye make up, foundation, etc)
WHERE TO FIND IT AND PRICE
You can find this easily at just about any store that sells Dove products. I got mine at Walmart. I paid around $4.00.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS
I think this is priced well and is a good general cleanser, gentle enough to be used everyday, like I said it never caused any irritation or dried my skin out any more than before I had used it.I have to admit, this is NOT my favorite cleaner but I do feel that it is decent and does a pretty good job. I'm not so sure that it is all that great of an exfoliator and I think that if you have dry skin/really dry skin you may want to use something else or make sure you use a good moisturizer after washing.
