Downtown Disney is a complex in Orlando, Florida that anyone can visit. You don't have to be staying at Walt Disney World to visit this very cool place. Although, if you are staying at Disney they provide free busing from your resort to Downtown Disney.
Downtown Disney is made up of three sections. One is all shopping and restaurants. Another is filled with night clubs. And another is filled with lots of fun things to do. The Marketplace is where you go for shopping. I don't generally like to shop, but just seeing this place is so neat. I like to relax a bit while on vacation. Downtown Disney is a great place to go to take a break from the Disney parks. I just really enjoy the laid back atmosphere and seeing all the different stores and restaurants.
Anything Disney you would want to buy is at Downtown Disney. Some of the stores include: Mickey's Mart, Pooh's Corner, Once Upon a Toy, World of Disney, Orlando Harley-Davidson, Mickey's Groove, Team Mickey, etc. Some of the restaurants include: Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, Raglan Road Pub, Wolfgang Puck, Earl of Sandwich, etc.
The night club section of Downtown Disney is Pleasure Island. I have walked through there several times during the day, but have never actually visited the night clubs, but it looks like a lot of fun.
The third section of Downtown Disney is called the West Side. There is lots of dining and entertainment here also.
My family and I love visiting Downtown Disney while on vacation to Walt Disney World and usually make 2-3 stops there during our week!
