This fanciful little dragon was a gift from my son, picked up while visiting in Wisconsin a few summers ago. The little fellow only stands about 4" high and in one claw he holds a small sword which is used to open envelopes. He's a handsome little medieval dragon and is made from a gray stone like material.
The detail of this little fellow is amazing and he stands perched on a base that holds him sturdily on the hallway table I have. He also stands guard over a dragon trinket box, another gift from one of my children :)
I've not used this little fellow as a letter opener very often even though the sword is quite sturdy, I'm afraid of marking the steel tip or otherwise damaging the pristine condition of this little figure.
As a figurine it makes an impressive and ornate piece but that it is also functional makes it a gift that I not only enjoy but, if I chose, could get a lot of use from. For now, he's part of my dragon collection and will likely remain unused unless the children are opening mail with him that I'm not aware of yet.
