Tabuelan is not really a well known province here in Cebu. Yet despite of it all, a paradise awaits in this little province. To get to Tabuelan, travel 90 kms in the North-Western part of Cebu Province, before you reach San Remegio there Tabuelan is located, approximately three hours ride from Cebu City proper. Tact away in this province, in a county called Tabunok, is Durhan Beach Resort.
You may opt on travelling in the transcentral highway if you own a vehicle or the conventional north road where you can rent a V-Hire which will cost you around Php1100 or more if non-staying but if you prefer the resort to arrange a vehicle for you this will cost around Php4500 since the vehicle wil be with you all throughout your vacation.
The resort has alot to offer other than a place to stay and relax on the beach front. They have a restaurant-sarisari store in one that offers variety of goods, a videoke machine for those who want to sing their frustrations out or for those who just love to sing. And for those who just cannot leave their work behind, wifi is available in the restaurant.
Outside the restaurant is the recreation area, they have a billiard table, a table tennis and what I believed to be a mahjong table as well.
They have mushroom tables on the beach front and a tent by the beach with yet another videoke machine. Exciting!!!
For room rates, I can say they are affordable. They also offer rooms for groups of 6, 8 or 12. Depending on your preference whether it is airconditioned or non-airconditioned. Please do take note though that there is an entrance fee of Php10 per person. And they also offer promotions for non-peak season, like if you book a month prior to your actuall vacation, you get 50% off, nice isn't it?
When I went to Durhan, it was after tropical storm Ketsana hit the Philippines so as I expected the beach isn't as crystal clear as what I was able to see in their website but still the beach is still very remarkable nevertheless.
So far the place is nice, cozy and warm. Typical provincial air, and the people are nice too.
If you would like to check out the place or plan to visit it someday soon here is there website for a more in depth check.
