I have a few pair of Dutch dolls scattered about my house and this matching set is one of my favorite.
This is my pair of 1980's vintage collectible dolls by Effanbee called Half Pint Toddler dolls from the Just Friends Collection. They carry the label Effanbee Dutch Treats #6201 (boy) and #6202 (girl).
I first saw these at my sister in law's house and fell in love with their innocent faces. Shortly thereafter my seach on ebay for a set of my own began in earnest. They have a secondary value of $85.00 for the pair but I lucked out and was the high bidder on this mint condition set with the original tags and outfits for only $25.00 last year.
I like these because:
**They are 11" in height, are fully jointed and a very nice size to tuck in a corner, on a shelf, or sitting against a bed pillow. I would also consider these a great size for a childs first doll.
**These cuties are all vinyl so I never have to worry about breakage as with porcelain dolls. They are easily cleaned with just a slightly damp cloth. Their blond hair is rooted and beautifully styled. They have sleep eyes and lashes and intense dark eyes when opened.
**Their Dutch costumes are well made with great colors from the hats down to the red and white striped tights and felt clogs. I can see why they are called Dutch Treats.
Although these dolls were meant to be played with I purchased them for their collectibility and because they just bring out the kid in me all over again!! I wouldn't hesitate to hand these over to a grandchild, if I had one!
