During some unseasonably cold weather, I decided to buy my husband the Dyna-Glo Portable heater to use in his garage while he worked on his vintage vehicles. We have another kerosene heater that works well, but it's so noisy you couldn't hear the phone ring, and our dogs ended up running out the doggie door in fear! So much for trying to warm them up!

The Dyna-Glo heater works better than I could hope for! All we did was assemble the safety screen over the main unit, fill it with fuel, and we were good to go. It's also easy to turn on and off. Just a twist of the knob, and a step on a peddle, and viola! It's lit! And it's very quiet! But don't let 'quiet' fool you into thinking it's not efficient. This small, lightweight heater heats up to 1000 square feet, with 23, 000 BTU's. It has a 1.9 gallon fuel tank, and will run for 12 hours. If you need heat in an emergency, this is the heater to have on hand, as it can also be used indoors. However, there is a slight kerosene smell that may be unpleasant. But if you're freezing, who cares about the smell?! There is little or no maintenance unless you need to eventually replace the wick.

I bought mine on sale in January. I suppose Lowe's wanted to clear out the winter stuff. My husband (and the dogs) really love this heater!
