Every radio controlled model needs a charger, and the one I use is the Dynamite Vision Peak Ultra. I bought it from my local hobby store for $90, which is a good price for a charger like this. It runs off of AC or DC power, so you won't need to buy a power supply like some other chargers. Also, not only can it charge 1-8 nimh/nicd cells, it can also charge 1-3 lipo cells, which is uncommon on a low-cost charger like this. The charger is also available as a DC only version for a little cheaper, so if you have your own power supply, you can save a little money by purchasing the DC only version. As soon as I got the charger, I read the manual. It is fairly simple, and won't take long - it's only one page long, and the charger is very easy to use. There are only four buttons, so navigating through the menus, setting the charge rate, setting the battery type, and starting the charge are all very easy.

For testing, I maxed out the capabilities of this charger. First I used a GWS 8 cell 750mah nimh battery, and charged it at .75 amps. The battery peaked in about an hour with no issue. Next, I charged my Align 3 cell 2100mah lipo battery at 2 amps, and again, in about an hour, it peaked with no issue. Keep in mind that it is not a balancing lipo charger, so if you want to keep your lipo cells in balance, you will need to use an external balancer.

The charger worked flawlessly, so I have been using it to this day. So far I have used it for several months, and have had no issues. It remains as my primary charger that I use. I have had no issues at all with it. The Dynamite Vision Peak Ultra is an amazing charger for just $90, I especially like the AC charging convenience, and the capability to charge my lipo packs!
