Let me just start off with this infomation - I hate ironing. So, when I go out shopping for clothes to wear in the office, the first thing I want to determine is if I'm going to have to break out the ironing board or if I'm going to be paying the drycleaners an arm and a leg. I don't have to dress up in a suit for day to day work as I am behind a locked door (one of the benefits of working in Human Resources), but I do like to dress in what I call "professional casual" wear.
Old Navy is where I have found my dream pants to wear in the office. The Women's Essential Classic Rise Trousers are perfect for me. They are made of polyester, rayon and spandex and they are machine washable. Once out of the washer, I don't even have to put them in the dryer. I just hang them on a clotheshanger and let them air dry. The fabric is light enough to air dry, but not so light they they wrinkle up and need the dreaded iron taken to them.
These pants can be worn all year long in the office as the material is not too heavy or too light. But, if your office is like mine, you might have to wear tights underneath in the winter to stay warm. Old Navy offers them in short, regular and long lengths and various neutral colors. I tend to stick with the grays, dark browns and blacks. I do wish they would offer a few more colors - dark green or deep burgundy would be nice for a change. The fit is classic rise which is just below the waist and is very comfortable to me.
The pants are long lasting as I've had several pairs for a couple of years. They are well worth the regular price of $29.50 but even better when they are on sale!
