I got this book for my 6 year old daughter. I am always struggling with ways to get her to eat more healthy, nutritious foods.
I was doing some christmas shopping and came across this book. When it arrived I was delighted! The layout of the book is very simple, for kids to understand.
The book is divided into different categories, such as restaurant foods, dairy, snacks, etc. On the left page it shows the pictures of foods that you should eat, and on the right side it shows you pictures of the foods that you should not eat. Then each food has a "balloon", stating some nutritional facts about each of the items.
My daughter, loved the fact that there were pictures of the foods for her to see what she should and should not be eating. She found that some of her favorite foods were not so good for her. Now she doesn't even question me when I tell her she can't have something. This book stays in our kitchen and when she gets something or wants something to eat, we look at the book together. If it is on the "bad" page, she just looks at the "good" page and makes a better choice.
Every parent should have this book! My only suggestion would be to make the words in the book more kid friendly.
