I just finished reading book number 3 of the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Eclipse continues to tell us about the love relationship between Bella, who is human, and Edward, who is a vampire.
I must say that Stephenie Meyer certainly has a great imagination. She has managed to keep my interest in telling the story of strange happenings and characters (such as werewolves and vampires). This type of book is something I normally would not be interested in reading, but my stepdaughter sent all four of the Twilight saga books to my husband for his birthday, and I got started reading them just for the fun of it. I never thought I would enjoy them as much as I have. They are totally different from my usual reading material, and Eclipse has managed to hold my interest just as much as the two previous books in the saga.
Bella has numerous struggles with Edward, simply because they are so different. And complications arise because of Bella's feelings for Jacob, who plays an integral part in Bella's life as well. It seems she is in love with both Edward and Jacob and doesn't want to hurt either of them, though her love for Edward is all-encompassing.
This novel has a lot of excitement. Victoria comes into play again, a vampire who came about in the previous books and who is out for blood (literally) because of the loss of her mate due to Bella.
The novel is 629 pages long, and I found myself reading avidly to find out what was coming next.
If you are looking for a totally different type of novel to read, you might want to give Eclipse a try. But you do have to read the other two novels, Twilight and New Moon, in order to really understand the intricacies of the third book.
