The Eee PC 904HA is a good netbook for the average PC user. The one I purchased from Best Buy was made specific to Best Buy, and thus had some tuned down specs from the actual 904HA.
My Specifications, and their individual ratings:
CPU: Intel Atom 1.6Ghz- This processor is the standard for netbooks, and is perfectly fine. However, the newer Atoms are a bit faster (N280). This processor gets the job done.
Memory: 1GB DDR2 PC5300 (667Mhz 200 pin). This memory is fine, as I run Easy Peasy 1.1. (http://www.geteasypeasy.com/). However, if a user was to order the Windows XP version of this netbook, I would recommend upgrading to 2GB of RAM, which can be easily purchased from Newegg for under $30, and installed by anyone following an online laptop RAM upgrade guide.
Hard Drive: 4GB SSD. Remember, this model is from Best Buy, and is thus tuned down, and the price went down. This SSD is fast, but not nearly enough space for anyone. I would highly recommend at least an 8GB SSD or even better the 160GB HDD model. The difference between an SSD and an HDD is that am HDD spins while it writes or reads, while an SSD (thus Solid-State-Drive) does not spin. I would not recommend 4GB SSD.
Graphics: The graphics in this netbook are integrated. Since you are not doing any graphics intensive applications ever with a netbook, you do not need to worry about the integrated graphics.
Screen: The screen is an LCD (non-glossy) 8.9 inch. This is fine, and works. The max resoulution is 1024x600. I typically run 600x400 just for size, but whatever is good for you.
Keyboard: The keyboard is rather small, and takes some adjusting to. It is fine after you get used to it though.
Case: The laptop case is nice, it is sleek, the total weight of the unit is about 2.8lbs, and it is very portable.
In conclusion: overall, this is a good netbook. I would recommend it, but do not go with the Best Buy model, buy one with at least 8GB SSD or the 160GB HDD.
