Epcot stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. This park opened in 1981 but Walt had visions of this type of park prior to his death.
Epcot has two parts: Future World and World Showcase. Future World is where Spaceship Earth, the large ball in the center, is located. Future World focuses on energy, communication, health, the land and the the envirnoment. They have shopping, dining such as the Corral Reef, and character meet and greet.
The World Showcase features 11 different counties: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, US, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada. Inside each country, you'll find shops and restaurants featuring items from that country. The cast members that work in these countries are actually from the country, so you can really get the feel that you are visiting these different places. You can also find the characters from the Disney Movies that took place in that particular country, ie Belle and the Beast in France and Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie in Morocco.
Epcot is geared more for adults. However, to help the kids out, they have kidcot, which are little coloring stations located in each country. The children can get a white paper mask and then they can color it little by little in each country and then they will get a paper charm from each country along with a stamp. When each of the 11 countries has been visited, the child will receive a special prize.
