Every day I need to use eye drops just to make my eyes feel normal. Usually it's just once a day unless it's allergy season. That's another story.
I've used most of the name brand drops over the years. Recently, my doctor suggested I try a much more expensive name brand that has less chemicals as he thinks the regular drops may be irritating the my eyelids. I tried it his way for several months and got tired of paying four times as much money for something that doesn't feel any better.
Years ago, I discovered Equate brand products. For the most part, I don't notice any difference in them and the name brands. I won't say I never choose the big name brand, but it's not often.
My eyes feel dry and red in the mornings, so I just put a drop in each eye, wait a few seconds and immediately feel relief. I usually buy the "redness reliever" type, but not always. Any of them seem to work fine.
In today's economy, it's a challenge to cut back and save money any way we can. A lot of people are just now discovering Equate brand and other store brands. I'm sure many of them will stick with them whenever the economy recovers. Why pay more for the same effect?
