Erec Rex: The Monsters of Otherness is the second book in the Erec Rex series. In the first book, we leanred about yet another boy with a similar history to that famous boy who lived, Harry Potter.
Erec is adopted, weird things happen around him, and yes, there happens to be a world of magic attached to the world we are all more familiar with. But the similarities end there, well, mostly.
In this second book Erec reluctantly begins to go through the 12 trials, which will determine the next ruler of the magical world. Erec doesn't want to lead, but he can't bear to let the other option happen. That option would be the most evil person in the world getting control over him and all of his friends.
The book has plenty of twists and turns and is just as exciting and different as the first. I figured out Erec's true identity about half way through the first book, but those that haven't will by the end of this book. While the story has a basis in A LOT of other books already available, this book is a must for any Harry Potter fan.
