I would have to say I am an expert when it comes to Las Vegas because I lived there for a year and before and after that I have had many of vacations there. If you have never been to Las Vegas, no matter what age you are, you are missing out. A lot of people say the reason why they have no desire to visit Las Vegas is because they are not a gambler. I am here to say that there are so many other things to do in Las Vegas besides gambling that you will have a great vacation without putting a penny into a machine.
If you are traveling to Las Vegas for the first time I would recommend staying on the strip just because you will not have to rent a car because most of the attractions are right there. Some of the hotels are expensive, but not the Excalibur. That's why so many people choose to stay at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. It has a great location on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, and there are so many things to see and do close.
The Excalibur Hotel and Casino is one of the more inexpensive hotels in that location. It has a mid-evil theme which is really cool. The lower level of the casino has a huge arcade for kids of all ages to play in, as well as a dinner show. The show is truly a sight to see.
The best part about the Excalibur is the wide range of food available. There are tons of fast food options on the third floor, as well as a resonably priced buffet. There are a lot of food options at the buffet and it is a great place to go to for a family with picky eaters. This hotel is definately geared for the whole family.
That being said, it can be a downfall to the hotel. The hotel can sometimes be crowded with children. This is one hotel you would not want to stay if you are looking for a peaceful and romantic getaway. But besides the giant arcade for the kids, there is several beautiful pools to play in. There is a ton of room and chairs by the pool that you will not have to worry about getting a spot early. That was one of my favorite activities to do was lay by the pool.
The casino floor itself seemed smaller than a lot of the casinos on the strip. They have a small variety of slots, but it seemed like every corner you went to was the same type of game. I always like to go to Vegas to try out all the different kinds of slots so to me this was disappointing.
Check-in to the hotel is a breeze, and the rooms are smaller but well kept up. The rates are quite reasonable, especially if you book them in a package with airfare. I do give The Excalibur Hotel and Casino two thumbs up just because it is one place I would come back to because of the great service and reasonable price.
