I conduct a lot of web design projects for local clients in my area, and thus during the web design phase I need to interact with clients over a video chat. The old webcam that I was using I have had since 2001 and it finally burnt out, I was seeking a webcam that would have stellar video quality, because my previous webcam didn't have good video quality at all. I knew that the price was going to be somewhat steep if I wanted quality, but I was willing to pay. I finally decided to order the Logitech B500 1.3MP Webcam for $53.45, this wasn't a bad price, and this logitech is optimized for Microsoft Office Communicator.
Setup is a breeze, simply plug this webcame into your laptop or desktop and Windows does the rest, I was up and running within two minutes. I first tested this webcam in a video chat with my friend, I was impressed by the video quality, it was clear and crisp and there wasn't any shaking like I have experienced with other webcams. The video capture resolution is 640 x 480 @ 30 fps, or if you are on a slower computer it can be 352 x 288 @ 15 fps. There is also a built-in microphone for video chatting in a pinch, as well as built-in RightLight technology and RightSound technology, for superior quality.
I like the Logitech B500, this is an excellent webcam for video confrencing, and the price is decent enough for most people to afford.
