I have been a long time user of Colgate toothpaste. I am always up to trying something new by Colgate. I saw this bright red box of Colgate in the grocery store begging me to pick it up. I did because it said it was an "Exciting Flavor!". Well that is far from the truth.
I was disappointed with the flavor and the performance of this new toothpaste . I love my mint flavored toothpaste and this one said it was a "Mint Zing". I didn't exactly know what that meant but it sounded like something exciting!
First of all, I was a little surprised about the color of the paste. I am used to seeing my minty "white" toothpaste come out of the tube. This one was a hue of blue. Blue isn't what I imagined when I read mint zing.
I put some on my toothbrush, willing to at least give it a try. As I started to feel the paste on my teeth, I noticed it felt a little gritty. I wasn't too thrilled with the taste either. It was a bit of a turn off.
I picked up the package and begain to read. I wanted to know what the mint zing consisted of. Well, it turns out that it is a peppermint and a spearmint together. I don't know about you but together those two don't taste good.
This paste offers up the same type of fluoride protection as my regular Colgate. It does state that you get stain protection if you keep using this toothpaste. As far as the whitening agent, I don't think it made a difference.
I think I'll donate this product to the trash can. I will keep buying my regular formula of Colgate in the future.
