Reading books is a great past time in my family. I love reading psycholigical thrillers while my daughter prefers the solving-type mysteries of Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and adventures of Corby Flood.. I think I must have rubbed in her my being a bookworm. It is nice that she is reading a lot of books to encourage creativity and visualization.
The Far Flung Adventures of Corby Flood is a book for intermediate readers. It is written by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell who are also the same authors of the book Fergus Crane, the Edge Chronicles series which are all geared for young readers.
This book is a christmas gift of our family friend to my daughter. It is a hardbound book with a glossy cover sleeve which opens up to a map you will use in the book as the journey and adventures of Corby begins. Corby is a young girl who set sail on the seven seas on board the S.S. Euphoria.
Another plus factor on the book is that it has big texts which I find good because it will not strain the eyes of the young reader. One more great feature is that it has illustrations inside which bring extra thrill for a hooked-reader.
I think this is a great gift to give a budding bookworm for birthday or Christmas!
