When I was pregnant, I really loved the smocking maternity dresses by Denise. If you don't know what smocking is, that is the method of hand sewing a garment to form a crumpled area. The thread used is usually elastic so it can stretch. It is painstakingly done that is why the finished clothing is usually a little more expensive than regular dresses.
Anyway, these are the kinds of maternity clothes that I wore. I like them because they are very comfortable and light, especially that during my pregnancy I felt very hot. They usually have spaghetti straps so they can be easily work. Additionally, smocking dresses are expandable. It doesn't matter how my breasts got larger, I could still fit in them! And since the portion on the check is the only that has smocking, that means the bottom or the skirt part is really wide. No matter how my tummy got big, the dress could still contain me.
And that is really important for a maternity dress. It is important to invest in good quality and comfortable maternity clothes because we only get to wear them until delivery time, or until we lose the water retention. Thankfully, my Denise maternity clothes were well worn.
By the way, I would just love to mention that their dresses are very fashionable. They come in bright colors and cotton fabrics with all the comfort and aesthetic sense of a pregnant woman in mind. I love this brand!
