Fiber One Caramel Delight is part of the General Mills line of high fiber cereals, offering a large portion of fiber to give you energy and make you feel satisfied longer than cereals with less substance. Fiber One's claim is that their products taste so good, you'll never notice the fiber. In my opinion, they have succeeded in that.

Healthy Cereal with Good Flavor and Crunchy Texture

It used to be that the words “healthy cereal” conjured thoughts of tough, cardboard-like cereal that seemed like a punishment to eat. Back then, high-fiber cereal was so tough, no amount of milk could make it edible. However, Fiber One Caramel Delight breaks the mold. Despite the high fiber, this cereal is crisp and tasty. In fact, it will even get soggy if you leave it in the milk too long, so don't savor it too long.

Even though it is a healthy cereal, this one is sweet enough that even kids would like it, but not so sweet as to be sickening. The caramel flavor is not overwhelming, so you don't feel like you're eating candy for breakfast. I was honestly surprised how much I loved the flavor the first time I tried it.

Nutrition Information for Fiber One Caramel Delight

According to the Nutrition Facts label on the box, Fiber One Caramel Delight multi-grain cereal has only three grams of fat, not counting the milk. It contains nine grams of fiber per serving, which is over a third of the Recommended Daily Allowance. In addition, each serving offers three grams of protein.

The problem with this cereal is that it is quite high in sugar compared to other healthy cereals with 10 grams per serving. Each serving also has 41 grams of carbohydrates, which is higher than many diets recommend for one meal. A serving is measured as one cup and contains 180 calories. While it is healthier than many other cereals, it is not a good choice for a carb-restricted diet. Those who are looking to reduce their carb intake should keep this in mind when planning their meais for the day, but it does let you feel like you're cheating on your diet just a little.

I do not often eat Fiber One Caramel Delight cereal for breakfast, because I prefer more protein in the morning. However, I do eat it from time to time, and I sometimes like it as a snack, just because I enjoy it so much.
