Final Fantasy XII is the 12th installment in the main FF series, and is the last Final Fantasy game on the PS2. It was one of the last high-profile games released on the system.
Final Fantasy 12 is one of the better-looking games on the system. The game has a very "open-air" feel to it, for lack of a better word, and everything has been rendered in good detail. The quality voice acting also adds to the world that's created. My only complaint is that although the game can display in widescreen, it does not support progressive scan.
The battle system is a deviation from previous FF games. This game ditches the ATB and CTB systems from previous FFs, and introduces the Gambit system, which is like a programming language that alloes you to automate the characters. This system is really a matter of personal preference, and I suggest giving it a try before you pick up the full game.
