Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings is a role-playing game for the Nintendo DS. Unlike the remake of Final Fantasy III that recently came out, this game takes a break from tradition and uses a battle system similar to that of the PS2 version of Final Fantasy XII. Before I get into that I should mention that this is not a portable version of Final Fantasy XII, but a supplement; a side-quest of sorts. The game uses a system similar to a real time strategy game, with battles and movement happening within the same area (i.e. no loading time before a battle). This is a very interesting way to play, and it is very fun. The graphics are a nice sort of pseudo 3D with 2D characters on a 3D plane. While they aren't much, they are nice to look at and befit a handheld game perfectly. The game is rated E10+, so it is not outstandingly violent, nor does it contain very much objectionable material at all. All in all, it is a quality game for the DS, and any strategy/roleplaying fan should definitely look into it.
