The Fisher Price Learning Home is an excellent investment for your toddler. The toy looks like a door, with a window on each side. One side of the toy has stickers to look like the outdoors, the other to look like indoors. The amount of features that interact with the child is incredible. The one that has kept my child entertained the most is the door through which he can crawl through and then turn around and crawl through again. Each time the door is pushed open, it makes a creaking sound, when it is closed, it makes a slamming sound.
The indoor side has a radio that has different buttons so they could choose their favorite "program". There is a wall clock and a light switch, which really flips on a light. On the outdoor side, there is a doorbell that sounds real enough for smart toddlers. The "address" numbers can be changed, and it says the numbers out loud so that they learn them. There is a flower, a mailbox that opens, and a window that opens and shuts. Everything interacts with the child when they activate it. My favorite feature though, is a wheel on the roof. It says "good morning" with the sun, and "good night" with the moon.
There are switches so that the features will focus on numbers interaction or letter interaction. For parents, there is not only an on/off switch, but a high/low volume switch. This toy keeps a toddler entertaind for a very long time, which is a difficult feat. It does take up quite a bit of floor space, but its a small price to pay for a bit of peace.
