I purchased the Fisher Price Rainforest Portable Play Yard for my baby. She slept in the bassinet for the first month after coming home from the hospital. It was a lot of space for her to sleep. The bassinet is easy to clip onto the play yard. I never worried that it would not hold her. It holds up to 15lbs.
I love that the mobile attaches to the sides and that it is portable. Once she moved into her crib, the mobile fit on the railing of her crib. The night light on it is my favorite feature. It is a soft light but stays on for quite some time, 20 minutes I think. I love that the animals move and that there is a volume setting. We seem to go through the AA batteries fast though. I replace them atleast once a month but usually once every 3 weeks.
My daughter loves the animals. They have always seemed to be able to capture her attention ever since she first came home from the hospital. She often "talks" to them. She has been doing this since she was about a month old. We have several other Rainforest items so she thinks the animals are her friends and they are every where she goes.
I am not sure why but sometimes the sides unlock if I lean just a little bit on them. I do not like that this happens but it is easy to resnap them into the lock position.
I have used the change table when I take the play yard to places where they do not have an area for me to change her. It holds up to 25lbs which is great. There is snap-on diaper storage, however, I never use it. It is nice to have it there if I do need it.
The play yard is easy to unfold and set up as well as packing it back up. The more I pack and unpack it, the faster I get at it.
