On January 5, 2009, my trusty five-year-old camera died. During the month that followed, I dilligently searched for a replacement, keeping two things in mind: video option with sound and high resolution. What I found was the Nikon S550, the Digital Camera that surpassed my reletively high standards. This camera packs 10 megapixels, numerous shooting modes as well as video with crisp sound and the ability to record endlessly, providing you have enough space on your memory card. besides this, the S550 maintains a suprimely stylish appearance and is hailed as "having the smallest body in its class" while sporting a large display screen and extremely compact Nikkor 5x zoom lens. The camera is lightweight abd cam be carried in a pocket or purse.
There are, however, a few issues that I noticed, most notibly that several of the functions that I was looking foreward to using were difficult to find or use, such as the smile and blink detection technology and the shooting modes. What's more, when I sought guidance in the instruction manuel, I was left to decipher vague (and in some cases, nonexistant) directions, most notibly in the shooting modes.
Overall, the short experience I have had with this camera has been one of unparalelled quality, with a few minor issues.
