I had never read Fitness magazine before and when I was recently laid up with a sinus infection, my husband purchased a slew of magazines for me to read including Fitness.
I enjoy reading self help and fitness magazines and Fitness did not disappoint me. It had just the right amount of articles-long and short as well as lots of pictures which I enjoyed because I am a very visual person.
To me, variety is the spice of life and there was a lot of variety in Fitness. Articles ranged from wonderful recipes for food that is fast and healthy (including a lovely one in the April 2008 edition for lemon chicken-YUM) to an article about "The Beauty of Green" where you could purchase beauty products that give back to the environment and an article suggesting the best fitness equipment for your needs.
I do admit that I chuckle sometimes when reading a fitness magazine because the models are perfectly put together in the most adorable workout clothes, hair tied back immaculately with no flyaways, and the most beautiful makeup on their faces while I am on the complete opposite end of the spectrum wearing old sweats, a sports bra, and an oversized Mickey Mouse t-shirt, hair pulled back in a bandana, and not a stitch of makeup on because frankly, I do not look cute with mascara streaming down my face from sweat while I am doing crunches. I have come to the conclusion though that whatever you wear when you work out, be comfortable in those clothes and feel good about yourself when working out. When you feel good about yourself, that is when you will see results!
