When I first heard the name "Flylady, " I pictured some monster with beady eyes, black wings, and an annoying buzz, but that's not at all the case. LOL! Still, I wondered how someone with a name like Flylady could know anything about cleaning.
Well, she surely does. She has a web site and thousands of ladies who follow her system for decluttering their houses, and keeping them that way. And it's all for free. (By the way, the name "Flylady" is a nickname because she likes flyfishing.) But the name also means a lot more. She wants us all to FLY--it means Finally Loving Yourself. It's so hard to feel good about yourself, or get anything in order when your home is a mess. Her system is 15 minutes at a time for decluttering, and a weekly home blessing. It's all on her web site, if you'd like to know more.
But Sink Reflections is her first book. It has all the information about her decluttering system, which starts with shining your sink. Such a small step, but an important beginning. She actually makes cleaning fun with things like a 27 Fling Boogie, and a Hot Spot Fire Drill. She talks about getting rid of CHAOS--Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome. And she gives you ideas for daily routines to maintain what you've accomplished.
It is a really fun outlook on house cleaning, and it has worked for me. (Okay, I admit I've backslid a couple of times, but Flylady says, "Jump In Where You Are--Don't Try To Catch Up" and "You Can Do Anything 15 Minutes At A Time.") She is a mother, a cheerleader, an encourager, and a coach. I just love her attitude!
So check out her web site at www.flylady.net, or pick up a copy of her book Sink Reflections. It might just change your life, like it changed mine.
