I used to have a Honda Pilot-I'll review that later-but it wasn't strong enough or even made to tow my 2 horses to and from show grounds. When my trainer's truck died on her, I decided I'd get the truck and she'd have the trailer and we'd have ourselves an arrangement where we could use my truck in exchange for trailer use and some training at the show grounds for each show. It works out great for us. The one thing about that is that this is my only vehicle, so I drive my truck everywhere. I don't mind a bit!! I love showing it off to people. It's very stylish and it's very functional for the kinds of things I do with it. The downside is that I'm the first one that everyone calls when they have to move!! I can haul shavings for the horses around, plus any time I have to move big items such as furniture, I don't have to call anyone. It tows the horses with no problem at all. We have a 2 horse trailer with 2 large horses. With both horses loaded, you can tell you're pulling but it has no problem doing it. With one horse, you would never know that you're pulling.
It handles just like a large car, so it's very easy to drive and fairly comfortable on the inside. The back seat is large in this version, so when we take our yearly trips to Alpine Valley Music Theater to see concerts and tailgate, I can carry all our coolers, tent, accessories, and 5 people (including myself) quite comfortably. The first year we had this truck, everyone raved aobut how spacious the back seat was, actually, and I can't remember the last time that not everyone fell asleep on the way home (other than me!! driving!!) so it's not so uncomfortable that someone couldn't sleep.
The gas mileage leaves something to be desired, but it's not as bad as some of the other trucks I've seen. I average about 12-16 mpg depending on how much I'm hauling.
Overall, this is a great truck-I haven't had any problems with it at all. It performs as good as or better than I expected it would. I certainly recommend this truck for someone who has a farly large amount to tow or if you're just going for the tough cowboy or cowgirl look :)
