I absolutely love delicious Frango mints! Here, I am reviewing a box of Frango Holiday Traditions chocolates. You won't find the original Frango mints in this collection.
This festively striped box contains one pound of chocolates. The three flavors hidden in this box are Gingerbread, Walnut Fudge, and Pumpkin Pie. While I'm a chocolate lover, I am not all that adventurous when it comes to "out of the ordinary" flavored chocolates, so I was not sure about all the members of this trio.
After endulging, I knew instantly my favorite of the three is the Walnut Fudge in dark chocolate. The walnut fudge is yummy and fudgy and oh so delicious. I might have preferred it in milk chocolate, but I give it a 3.5 star rating. It fulfilled my fudge requirement for the holidays.
Next, I liked the Gingerbread in milk chocolate. I am not fond of gingerbread, so this is surprisingly good. It tastes a bit like toffee. I give the gingerbread candies a 3.0 rating.
My least favorite of the three flavors is the Pumpkin Pie in milk chocolate. I just wasn't sure about this pumpkin and chocolate combination. It seemed so wrong. After tasting it, I didn't find the pumpkin chocolate combination anything I'd like to hide away in a drawer so no one else eats them, nor was I thrilled with the pumpkin filling itself. That's not to say I didn't eat more than one. Heehee. I give the pumpkin pie chocolates a 2.5 rating.
Frango Holiday Traditions candy makes a great Thanksgiving or Christmas gift, especially if you are buying for the experimental chocolate connoisseur.
