First off, I can't begin to tell you what a amazing cat litter this is! I use to think the some of the other top brands I've tried where worth what I paid, until I found FreshAire. When they make claims about it providing advanced odor control, they mean it. I should know how important odor control is having a multi cat household. This consists of 2 geriatric adults, 2 adults, 2 young adults, and 2 kittens. So, cleanliness and odor control is TOP priority. So when I initially saw this product at Petsmart, I looked but passed it by many times on regular visits to buy pet supplies. I figured it was probably like any other clumping litter on the market and there wouldn't be much difference. However, when I noticed it on the shelf this time, it was on sale. So I grabbed a container of it. Right away, I could notice one difference in picking up the 20 lb container, it was lighter than other litters. Which is great for my back! Also, in bringing it home and pouring it into their pans, I noticed not only did it smell like fresh cedar, you could actually see the cedar. It was plentiful with it, unlike other litters with added cedar. This litter formula also uses recycled wood for it's cedar source, blended together with 2 kinds of clay. One for absorbency, and one designed for fast clumping. This is what they mean by "biofilters", using organic ingredients with no chemicals or fragrances.
I know you are probably thinking, there is no possible way that this could tackle odor at all. But like I said, I wasn't a believer until I tried it. Now I won't buy another litter, period. The transition for my cats went great, it's lighter and easier to fill and scoop. The odor control is amazing, and not only keeps me a happy camper, but makes it a pleasant experience for my cats using their litter boxes.
The Freshaire products have 2 formulas. Available in 10 lb, 14 lb, and 20 lb. The regular formula litter and the multi cat with cedar. There are also separate products that you can buy for natural odor control if you'd rather keep your old litter, which is small bags of recycled cedar and pine. But, I recommend the multi cat with cedar formula litter, regardless of the number of cats you have, you won't be sorry. The one and only drawback to this, it's a Petsmart only product, so you can't stop by and grab it anywhere. Once you've tried it though, you'll definitely see why it's worth the trip!
