I received the Digi-Block MP3 player for Christmas this year and after a few weeks of steady use I wanted to share my opinion.
The Digi-Block is often advertised as the smallest MP3 Player with an LCD screen and I have to admit the small size is one of my favorite features. I can carry my Digi-Block in my pocket while doing house cleaning, this way I can enjoy my music without disturbing the rest of the household. It also recognizes a variety of audio formats so I can listen to my music and audiobooks without worrying about converting files. Another great feature is that it is extremely easy to sync the cube using Microsoft Media Player and my computer, running Windows Vista, also recognizes the Digi-Block as if it were a flash drive . This allows me to access the folders on the block to delete and add music without using any additional programs.
Before you run out to buy your own Digi-Block let me share some of the draw backs. The biggest let down was, and still is, the battery life. The manufacture says the battery life is anywhere from 6-8 hours. In reality it is more like 3 or 4 depending on whether use use the full 2GB of memory or not. Also, the more memory space you use the slower the Digi-Block loads when you initially turn it on.
There is a random play music selection for those of us who enjoy listening to our music in no particular sequence but, in my case, the first song the Digi-Block plays never changes. Lastly, the earbuds are not the best. The earbuds are designed to be worn as a necklace which I personally don't like and their audio levels are pretty low. I actually use a pair of earbuds I bought previously to listen to music.
