My mom is a sucker for any innovation pertaining to cooking. She saw this QB Stove being advertised in the TV shopping channel called Venta 5 and she called my brother to get one for her. And he did.
And we are glad. The QB Stove is a smokeless, stainless steel charcoal stove and grill made by a Filipino scientist. Depending on where you get it, it costs between $60-70.
We like it because even inside the house, we can make barbecues because this stove is smokeless. Additionally, it has a drip pan where with all the fats of the barbecue go to, so it prevents the smoke. Additionally, the fat can be used for other purposes.
The QB Stove also has a high thermal efficiency, so even if charcoal used is almost powdery, it can still boil water or slow cook tough meats. It is really fuel efficient. When my mom buys 1 sack of charcoal she gets to use even the powdery part, so she has really saved a lot.
She seldom uses her LPG stove anymore because she has saved so much money with her QB Stove.
Since the QB Stove is small, we can bring it anywhere--to the garden, to the beach, etc. and still make good barbecues. It measures about 11 inches x 11 inches x 7 inches, but it weights more than 6 kilos.
The downside however is that the QB Stove only has one burner.
