The Hyatt Key West Resort and Marina is a beautiful resort that has recently been totally renovated. My husband and I spent a few days here on our honeymoon several years ago. We enjoyed our very relaxing stay.
We recently had a chance to visit this resort again, but this time with our children. It has been updated beautifully to the standards that you would expect of the Hyatt hotel chain.
The rooms are all done in a modern-tropical theme. A very light and airy decor. All the standard Hyatt amenities are provided. These include: the trademark Hyatt bed, LCD televisions, soft robes, Hyatt bath products, dual line phones, high-speed wireless internet, mini bars, in-room safe, and 24-hour rooom service.
We did not dine at any of the restaurants on site, but they seemed to be busy, which is usually a good sign.
The pool had pristine water with teak lounge chairs and poolside cabanas. The atmosphere is very tranquil and relaxing.
The beach, while private, was a bit of a disappointment. As you can see from the photo provided, it is rather small and the marina spoils it's beauty.
At the entrance of the resort is a delightful pond with turtles. The staff provided turtle food for our children to feed them with (see photos).
On the path to the beach was the resident parrot (see photo). This was another little perk that entertained the children.
The resort is located within walking distance to many of the tourist sites.
The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Would we stay there again? Yes, but I hope they eventually make improvements to the beach area.
