Okay, let me start off by saying this movie was just far too long. Even if it hadn't been too long, I think it still would have been disappointing. The film started off so-so; it was somewhat funny, but there weren't very many laugh-out-loud moments. It was at least entertaining though. Then it went downhill. Somewhat funny turned into outright drama. If we had wanted to be bored to tears, we would have chosen a Meryl Streep movie. We opted for an Adam Sandler film, because we felt like laughing. There weren't many laughs in this movie; it was dry, dramatic, and loooooooong. Judging from his last couple of movies, Adam Sandler has apparently lost his ability to be funny. He seems to be trying to use film as an outlet for whatever is going on in his life or something, instead of just having fun. The result is somewhat painful to watch. Maybe at some point he will realize that and go back to being fun and care-free. Anyway, if you watch this movie, I would advise you to have a crossword or something handy, at least for the second half of the film.
