One of my favorite things about my 30gb video Ipod is the games that can be bought for it from the Itunes store.
There are about 2 dozen available for use on all Ipods with video and the new style Nanos, and they range in price from $0.99 to $4.99. They include such classics as Chess, Solitaire, Backgammon, Yahtzee, Scrabble and Tetris to games based on the hit TV show LOST and the blockbuster movie Pirates of the Carribean. Also available are arcade favorites Pac-Man, Bomberman, Bubble Bash, Zuma, Cubis 2, Bejeweled, Naval Battle, Texas Hold'em, Mini-Golf and The Sims Pool and Bowling, among others.
The graphics, sound, gameplay and controls are all top-notch. The controls have been adapted to the Ipod's scroll wheel. While it may seem weird at first not to have the traditional joystick, it is very quick and easy to get used to, and nothing is lost in the translation.
One of the best features is the option to turn off the game's sound, and listen to your own music, a podcast, or even an audiobook while playing. What a fun way to pass the time.
I enjoy my Ipod much, much, more than a Nintendo Gameboy, and the price of the games compared to those for the Gameboy and other systems make these games an incredible value. You get your money's worth the first few times you play them. I would recommend these games to all Ipod owners of any age.
