This was the first time purchasing a ceramic top stove. The ease of cleaning the stove top is awesome. No more taking everything apart, working your fingers to the bone trying to get all of the baked on grime off of the drip pans, no more lifting the top to clean underneith for spills that went behind the drip pans. Cooking on the stove top is much better than electric coil or gas. The stove top keeps the burner and cooking vessel on top, at a constant tempature. This makes buring your food harder to do. It does take a little to get used to, the even cooking more than anything. I had gotten so used to "hot spots" on the stove top, that when this one was installed, I kind of had to learn all over again. I find that this works great with my stainless steel cookware, and my non-stick, both being equally impressive. The stove itself does take a bit to come to temperature, but once it is there, the baking is uniform and complete. Self cleaning is easy, but takes a while to complete. Yet, when it is done, the oven looks like brand new. I am very impressed with the ceramic stove top and do not think I would ever own any other type of stove top. When cooking, you can not be more happy than when your creations turn out correctly, each and every time.
