Hey guys, another Chem book review here. This one is an older text by Nobel Laureate Linus Pauling. For its depth, balance, and insight, it is probably my favorite general or introductory chemistry book out there. I strongly recommend this book as a supplement to any courses you may be taking and even as a base text on its own. This book covers everything from descriptive to thermochem and does a great job describing the reasoning behind the presented theories. Many modern intro books treat the reader as if he/she is unable to grasp difficult concepts. This books takes those concepts and makes them easy to understand. One last thing I want to mention about this book is its usability. Although I do believe it is a great intro text, I wouldn't try to read it before reading an alternate, simpler text. You can get so much more out of this book if you've been through the material once already.
