I have recently bought a pair of slacks from Wal-Mart, giving their store brand, George, a try. While not my normal brand of slacks, the price was far better than what I usually pay. I tried the pants on in the store, they fit alright, so I bought them and took them home. After washing the black slacks, I found they had shrunk just a tad, but actually fit better than before. While the pants were fitting in the waist and thighs, there may have been too much flare in the calves for my liking.
The style was classic; they were slacks I could wear to work or just to go out in. The coloring was great-I bought black and they have stayed black through many washes. The one thing I do not care too much for is the quality of the pants. While they have been worn a lot, with each wash the pants get a little thinner in the inner thighs and waist. The stitching has come undone on one ankle, which is not what I expected. I expect that if I spend money on an article of clothing, even after a dozen or so washes, the stitching should not come out nor should the pants be thinning. That is what I would expect from any brand, including George.
All in all, I found that the pants were not bad, they were comfortable and classy, but I got what I paid for, which was questionable craftmanship.
