What's cute, cuddly and undead? Why it's a Sock Zombie, of course. The night I read a review about Sock Zombies on Shared Reviews, I thought they were so cute that I showed the review to both my husband and my 14 year old daughter. My daughter thought they were pretty awesome and made me promise to get her one for Christmas. I did not think she was serious but she asked me repeatedly for months if I had got it for her yet. I had a feeling it would come in handy some day so I was glad that I had saved the link to Underroos Sock Zombie page on Etsy.com http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5061910

Now you may be asking yourself what exactly is a Sock Zombie. Well it is described as a Sock Monkey, only undeader. Part of the reason I love this product is because of the humor Underroos has written on her web site. It's really funny, you need to check it out. These little guys are all handmade out of different styles and types of sock so each one is a unique creation. They come in different sizes and shapes such as one horned, two horned, crazy horned and toe hawks. She has even done a few special ones that look like pirates, ninjas, and samurais and she will make you a custom creation all your own if you want.

The one I purchased for my daughter is the Double Decker Glittery Skulls and Stripes Sock Zombie. He stands 14 inches tall and was even more awesome in person than I thought. He features a white tube sock body, black socks with skull on them on his lower horns and stripped socks on the top of his horns. He has an adorable set of mismatched eyes, glittery puff paint blood drool and a skull head earring.

If you want your Sock Zombie a little more child friendly, she can make them without the blood and with safety eyes and all that good safe stuff but it sorta misses the point when you do that. My daughter takes her Zombie with her everywhere and she gladly shares her pillow with him at night too. This was a great unique gift.

Update On Jul 01, 2010: Today I was delighted to find that sock zombies have thier own facebook page. You can find them at sockzombie.com. There are some funny interviews with the zombies that might give you a little chuckle. She has also added many new styles of zombies for sale on ETSY including new pirate and ninja zombies and for those Twilight fans out there, there is an Edward Cullen zombie as well.
