After struggling with a hamper than was always overflowing, I decided to try a new system. One day I was walking through Ross, and I spotted several shelves of wicker hampers. They were circular with a cloth lining. The wicker was black and the lining was a black and white floral print. The cloth lining was a necessity to keep the clothes from getting snagged.
I decided to use my original hamper for bath and kitchen towels, and I purchased two of the wicker hampers. The large one I use for my regular laundry, and the medium one for my nicer knit pants and jackets, and additional items that need greater care. (We have other plastic hampers in the laundry room on the first floor as well, but I needed something on the second floor where my bath and closet are located.)
It's amazing how just getting the laundry organized has made everything so much nicer. I feel that I am able to keep up better with the wash, and the sorting is also much easier. No more piling things up to the ceiling, or unsightly clothes hanging out of the basket.
I would definitely recommend these hampers to relieve stress, and to help you get better organized.
