First of all, this is an absolutely beautiful book! The great photography, glossy pages, and clean layout would make this book shine even if its author had not been Giada De Laurentiis. But Giada's touch makes this cookbook extra special. Her recipes are very easy to follow, and don't call for a lot of special ingredients that you have to run all over town to try and find. The recipes are from all the regions of Italy, and they are just good old everyday Italian family cooking, not gourmet masterpieces. They all have quick prep times, and you'll be amazed at how beautiful to look at and GOOD these recipes are! The suggested menus that are included really help when planning a meal. Some of my favorite recipes from this cookbook are the Vodka Sauce for pasta, the Lasagna Rolls, the Winter Minestrone, and the Chicken Marsala.
If you like to cook and try new dishes, you will love this cookbook!
