For those of us who are too poor to afford $700 Photoshop CS4, along comes a good piece of software called Gimp 2. This program is a graphic design program exactly like Photoshop, except it's completely free! It has a huge range of editing features, such as the lasso tool, custom brushes, hundreds of fonts and colors, and more. Don't like the brushes it comes with? You can easily download more brushes for it and put them in GIMP to use in your art. Sick of the fonts? Go download more off the internet and put them into GIMP as well. The possibilities are endless. The program's site www.gimp.com includes tutorials, guides, downloads, and customer service resources that you can access for no charge or registration. This program has been used by me and many of my personal friends in order to create new images, edit our photos or just play around in using images off of the internet. I have used this program for a long time and it continues to have great updates and serves as one of the higher end graphics tools out there. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to start photo editing but doesn't want to shell out hundreds of dollars for the software. The program has a very easy user interface and beginners will be able to figure it out easily while more experienced artists will thrive in it.
