When the front brakes went on our Infiniti M35x, my husband wanted to be a cheapskate and see if there were aftermarket parts he could buy instead. SO, he took the car to his mechanic friend and it took him a long time to locate the brakes. Apparently Inifiniti makes their difficult to service if you aren't a factory trained mechanic. Well, he was at least able to determine that it was only the brakes that needed to be replaced and not the rotors too. He advised my husband to just buy the original factory brakes as you wouldn't have any problems with them.

We went to dealership and got the front brakes we needed. They were expensive as they were ceramic brakes which are apparently better. They also provide better efficiency, stopping faster in dry or wet weather conditions. The ceramic coating also conditions the rotor and helps to reduce brake noise.

We took the brakes back to my husbands mechanic to install for us. It took him quite awhile. Once they were done, I immediately noticed a difference in the stopping ability of the car and had to adjust my driving to prevent jerking on them. They slightest pressure on the brakes induced an immediate stop ans they were so new. I quickly adjusted to the new brakes and was able to brake smoothly. Although they weren't installed by the dealership, they are still under warranty and I can return them for any reason if we have a problem. So far so good!
