I have two leather couches which the kids use in their playroom. I find that leather is great for kids because you can easily clean it and it is very durable and resilient. I noticed that my couches have been dull and I realized that I needed to restore their shine. Leather needs to be cleaned and moisturized just like our skin. I found a great tip for cleaning leather and here is how you can do it with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. It works for coats, furniture, shoes, and purses.
Mix 1 part vinegar to 2 parts olive oil. Mix it up well.
Take a damp soft cloth and dip it into a small amount of the vinegar and oil mixture.
Rub it over the sides and arms of your couch then buff it up with a dry soft towel. You can also do the cushions and back of your couch just be careful not to apply too much of the mixture because you don't want your clothes to get oily. Also make sure that you buff it up really well.
By using this homemade mixture, new life has been brought to my leather couches. They are soft and shiny again!
