Don't you just love sales? Especially jewelry sales? Well, on a recent trip to Panama City, my daughter and I visited the new outdoor shopping complex called Pier Park. (By the way, isn't it interesting that the trend is now moving away from indoor malls? All the newest creations in our area are outdoor complexes.)
At any rate, after dropping her off to shop the younger, hip stores, I headed for an old faithful--Dillard's. I barely got in the door, when I spied the sale of all sales in the jewelry department. 40-70% off many items, and then an additional 30% taken off of that. (They were practically giving this jewelry away.) So naturally, I dove into the racks head first. LOL!
One of the items that I purchased is a gorgeous Givenchy ice blue crystal necklace. A silver tone chain leads to five exquisite blue crystals, and then there is another section that drops down from there, with five different crystal designs that graduate in size. This necklace retails for $85.00, and was marked down to $25.50. Add on the 30% additional discount, and it was $17.85. Let me repeat...A Givenchy necklace for $17.85!!!!
Sadly, it was such a great bargain, that I decided to sell it in my collectibles booth, instead of keeping it for myself. But some happy customer will also get a great deal on a lovely piece of jewelry. (Though not as good a deal as I got!) LOL! But that's the heart of American consumerism. Perhaps you've heard the saying, "If there were three dealers on a desert island, and one chair--they would ALL sell it for a profit!"
