When we chose this playpen, we thought it looked great, and the price was a bit cheaper than some other ones that we knew were good (like Graco). Plus, I liked the color scheme. We thought we were getting a good deal.
The main issue I have with this playpen is the fact that there is absolutely no support to it whatsoever. The bassinet part, which is installed over the bottom area of the playpen for when baby is small, sagged a little when I put her in it, but I just attributed it to the fact that it is suspended on metal bars. No biggie.
Then she got older, we removed the bassinet and set her in the bottom. Well, the bottom sags so badly that she kept rolling down into the middle of it. Now, anyone whose had children knows, if you are trying to give your baby tummy time or help them learn to roll over, they need a nice, flat surface. Not to mention the suffocation risk if she were to roll into a stuffed animal or such! Now that she can sit up on her own, I can't set her in the pen at all because the sagginess causes her to "tip" over. I have to always set a Boppy pillow around her to keep her safe.
I discovered the problem- there is a support piece underneath the playpen in the center; for whatever reason, this piece was designed so that it doesn't even come near to touching the floor, not even with my daughter's full 20 lbs in the playpen. Why it was designed this way, I can't say, but that is where the sagginess comes from.
I was so disappointed with this playpen, I told my sister-in-law to take it off of her registry and replace it with a Graco or a Kidco. By all means, spend the extra money and get a good playpen!
