I've been waiting for a couple of years now to see these CFL energy efficient bulbs come out with a shape similar to incandescents as I have some lamps that the usual CFL bulb with the swirl shape just don't work in. The other day while out shopping I saw a display filled with incandenscent shaped bulbs and each package had a $4 off coupon attached to it. Cool.

The bulb is smaller than a normal sized incandescent bulb which is perfect as the bulbs I've wanted to replace for awhile now are located in my kitchen light fixtures. They require a smaller globe with a standard sized base. These little guys fit perfectly!

Now, the entire house except for my huge chandelier which takes long cylindrical shaped light bulbs that are a special order, will have the CFL bulbs and hopefully that will reduce our hydro bill by even more.

The 7watt bulb gives off enough light by itself to be satisfactory but as each of the light fixtures has 4 bulbs per fixture, there will be plenty of light in the kitchen. These bulbs indicate on the package that you will save about $24 a year in lighting cost with one bulb and they are guaranteed to last for 5 years.

At just $1.97 after coupon, I intend to stock up on these and as the twirled CFL's die, I'll just replace them with these. Great bargain and a really inexpensive way to save on electricity.
