Image for Glofiish - Not My Type!

I just recently bought a smart phone - Glofiish X610 because my almost 7 years old phone - P900 Sony Ericsson is already bidding its farewell by not functioning properly.

I have been mulling about buying the Sony Experia but still find it expensive so I settled for this rather affordable smart phone with many features. Since my budget was limited, I tried to justify Glofiish's many features against my old Sony Ericsson and the new phone outweighs the other.

Glofiish X610's features:

GSM/EDGE/Quad Band

GPRS/EGPRS

Pocessor: Samsung SC3

Display: 2.8", 320 x 240, TFT-LCD

Camera: Built-in 2.0 mp with fixed focus CMOS

Has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Has GPS (which until now, still has not worked in my area)

Expansion: Micro Disk slot

Battery: 1.530 mAh

Windows Mobile 6.1 Prof

Dimensions: 107 x 58 x 14.7 mm

Weight with battery: 134 g.

Memory: 128 MB flas ROM, 64 MB SD RAM

Voice Memo/Voice Dialling

SMS/MMS

WAP/WLAN/USB

To-Do List

FM Radio

Touch Screen and Handwriting recognition

Comes with Stylus, battery pack, battery charger, protective film, headset and leather casing and installation and manual cds

Games

Seeing all the above features, this phone is rather promising but I find the internal memory so low that I cannot customize my ring tone according to my preference because the phone saves the personal settings in its internal memory. When you try to use your card slot's saved music files, it does not pick as your ring tone preference. The format accepted for the media are: wmv, aac, MP3 but if you want to personalize your ring tone, you have to convert your mp3s to wmv.

The battery life is another story. Since I bought this phone, I have been charging it almost daily when I am not even using the other features. My GPS and GPRS are both off, even the Bluetooth but for some funny reasons, this phone eats up the batter power. I tried putting the device on sleep mode but it turns the device off. I have missed important calls already because of that feature. So, I disabled the sleep mode and now, I have to charge my phone daily and for crying out loud, this is just a one-week old phone! Sigh!!!!

The performance is slightly slow because of the many applications and this phone already hang thrice since I bought it.

The phone is powerful as a whole but I think I will not recommend this phone to others. I would prefer a less-features phone but with great speed and longer battery-life. I don't mind not having GPS too.
