My dog has intervertebral disc disease.

Once he was diagnosed I discussed supplements with his veterinarian, who stated that glucosamine and chondroitin could help to strengthen his healthy discs, which would take the pressure off of his damaged ones. It was possible that the supplements could also help to partially repair the prior damage.

While searching for the right supplement, I learned that glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate were more readily available to the body than regular glucosamine or chondroitin. I also learned that certain vitamins and minerals could also help to protect and repair bones and tissues.

Hoping to come across just the right supplement as giving a dog a daily pill or two is difficult enough, having to give him several pills would just not be reasonable. This is when I ran across Doctor Gary’s All Natural Glucosamine Chondroitin Complete Joint Pain Formula. It is sold in capsule or treat form for small breed dogs, large breed dogs or humans. I chose the large bread dog capsules due to my dogs weight as well as the cost.

Along with the Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin Sulfate, Doctor Gary’s also includes the following ingredients: Vitamin E, Vitamin B12, Manganese, Boswellia Gum Extract and Yucca Root. It is quite the effective combination!

When I first started giving my pet the capsules, I needed to give him 3 a day to build up the supplements in his system and then I could go down to 2 a day. To make it easier for my dog to absorb the supplements I give him one capsule in the morning and one at night, usually with peanut butter.

The biggest difference that I see with my dog when he is taking the supplements is that he is less stiff. While I give him the Doctor Gary’s along with another supplement (Yucca Intensive), I have learned that both are necessary for him to be able to enjoy a pretty comfortable life.

At one point I was not sure how much the Doctor Gary’s was helping and wondered if with time he would be able to discontinue the use of one or both of the supplements that he is on, or cut down, so I had a trial of him not taking the Doctor Gary’s capsules. During the time that he was not taking Doctor Gary’s he was much more stiff in the back as well as in his hind legs, which he was having trouble lifting a short distance to get into his bed. Adding the supplements back into his daily routine eliminated that problem for him, so I now make sure that I have plenty on hand as to not run out.

For more information on this supplement I suggest that you visit drgaryscure.com, however Gary also sells these supplements on ebay.com cheaper than he does on his site, so take a look in both places to ensure that you are getting the best deal.
