During winter my hands tend to deal with a lot of abuse - I rarely wear gloves and despite the bone chilling cold, I'll usually forgo putting them on simply because I'm only hopping from the house to the car for short stints. After cleaning the car off I'll often grab the extra snow or ice that has accumulated around the wiper blades and after a few times of doing this and leaving my hands exposed to the elements they become just a little rough. I knew that I'd be doing some hand shaking over the weekend, meeting someone I'd never met before - and the first impression I didn't want to extend was that of "crocodile" hands.
Gold Bond has some awesome products and although I had never used them personally, I know people who had and the feedback about these products always seemed to be great. I was looking for the Restore product but instead located this Moisurizing Skin Therapy which is said to relieve "extremely dry, cracked and irritated skin". Well, I applied just the smallest amount of this very thick, rich cream on my hands this morning, a little goes a long way - and now, almost 8 hours later my hands are still exceptionally soft and oh so smooth.
The lotion has Aloe and 7 intensive moisturizers plus vitamins A, C and E. As with all such lotions, there is a warning not to apply near eyes and to keep out of reach of Children.
For $7.99 this lotion is going to last for some time because I used about the size of a quarter of a dime on my hands and my skin aborbed it quickly and it didn't leave any greasy feeling - just a very smooth, very moisturized feeling. The scent is very fresh and not over powering, just a subtle hint of a very light sort of fresh soapy aroma but the scent doesn't remain so you don't have to worry about it battling with perfume or cologne you might wear.
Although I didn't buy this for my face it does indicate that you can use it on the face as well as anywhere else on the body including feet, elbows, knees or simply all over. I actually put some on my neck to see what that would be like :) and just as with my hands, my neck feels oh so silky.
A luscious product that is definitely worth the purchase if you have dry skin or skin that cracks and you want to nourish it back to health. It indicates that it moisturizes for 24 hours, is dermatologist tested, is hypoallergenic and can be used as often as you feel necessary. I've had no reaction to this product at all even after using it on my neck which tells me that it's great even for those with sensitive skin.
